The Hoog Catharijne shopping center is committed to combating this issue through a uniquely named pop-up store, Kromkommer, whose namesake means "rotten cucumber". For 15 days, Kromkommer set up shop in a vacant store fulfil its mission: selling "ugly" fruits and vegetables which would have otherwise been thrown in the garbage.
